This is great article Bryan.

Anyone have any thoughts on how to actually derive or calculate a freight charge using weights, freight rates, ship methods, from and to destinations ? Thinking about using advance pricing to do this and wondered if anyone has done this before and could share ideas or code?

Cheers

Hi Bryan,

I believe the requirement/solution you have discussed in this article, is similar to one of our business requirement. If a particular item (say ITEM A) is selected (via configurator), then we need to add a surcharge item (say ITEM B) and get 50% of unit selling price of ITEM A for Item B. As you mentioned i tried the promotional goods modifier and add Get product details, but i cant add a formula to the ITEM B selection.

Can you pls let me know if you have any suggestions on this?

Cheers,
Preeth

Hi Bryan and the rest of you,

Great discussion you have here. I am working on a rollout to one of the subsidiary. I am using modifier and formula to pass freight either to the order line or at the header level.

What I am most concerned now is how to pass to AR freight and lines as a single invoice. Oracle documentation says I need to setup Line and invoice Transaction flexfields. I am not certain which interface_line_attributes are for the line and invoice.

I've been hammering this with Oracle GCS for quite sometime but until now it is still in the dark. Would really appreciate if you guys can help me out of this misery.

A million thanks!!

Bryan:

Please send me your code and the Get Item Modifier details.

Can you also explain how "Accrue" work with the modifier, especially when use with "Credit Memo" Rebtate Transaction Type, please? Does it generate Credit Memo automatically? I tried, and it didn't. I want to make sure it wasn't my mistake.

Thanks,
LS

Hi Ragupathi,

Fulfillment sets are used to delay invoicing until all order lines have been fulfilled. Ship sets are used to prevent partial shipping of an order line or serveral order lines. These ship sets can be applied manually or can be automatically applied through several configuration points.

Hope this helps,

Hi Bryan,

Thanks for the reply .

I have done the following set up .

1. In shipping Parameter - Under the Pick Release tab . Checked the - Enforce Shipset and Ship Models
2. Attached a Fullfillment set to the order line.

When I pick release the line ,if sufficient quantities are not available to fulfill, the line gets back ordered.

Kindly correct me ,if I am wrong . If you have any other better method ,kindly update .

Thanks
